It's Legal!
Drugs are psychoactive compounds that cause various changes to the mind of a sentiant being. Traditionally on Earth they were deemed illegal for periods of human history.
Early Attempts To Legalize[]
In 2011, legislature was set to legalize certain drugs in New Devonshire, Virginia to help quell street crime from the mob. Before the bill could be put into motion, the current mayor was killed, and replaced by one sympathetic to the mob. Framing his decision in moral intent, he undid all progressive measures to legalize any drug.
Legalization, and Introduction to Mass Consumer Market[]
Somewhere between 2011, and 2019, certain drugs were legalized in The United States. By 2019, these drugs had become almost as widely sold as beer. They were even available in some restaurants as indicated by a later menu of Papa Pia's Pizzaria. Large corporations marketed and sold drugs en masse in the 2020s. In 2025 when the intro to Starbird Part II takes place, companies such as High As Kite, LSD Inc, Pot Luck, and Pickford Industries all sold the following drugs; MDMA, LSD, Marijuana, Opium, and Salvia (which was already legal).
