Antarctica is a frozen continent at the south polar region of Earth.

In the early days of human expansion to other worlds, Antarctica was the site of the first successful climate controlled cities. Penguin City was established first as a research base but expanded to become a perminant thriving city, and the capital of its region. Inside of these domed cities, the climate is kept at around 74 degrees F, and civilians can watch the snow fall from the inside around the dome. A few days of the year the temperature is lowered to 32 degrees to allow it to snow. This is done during the holiday season to create a better atmosphere to celebrate. It is done until January first, and on the second it is rased back up to 74 degrees. These settlements were a signifficant step towards the creation of the lunar colonies.
